6 Arrested after Nevada Human Trafficking Ring Busted in Douglas County

Douglas County, NV: The authorities in Nevada arrested 6 individuals involved in Human trafficking Ring.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) reported that six individuals were apprehended in the Stateline area as a result of an undercover operation that aimed to combat human trafficking.

On March 29, undercover agents from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the Douglas County Street Enforcement Team, and the Reno Police Department’s HEAT Team (Human Exploitation and Trafficking) conducted an operation in the Stateline area to combat human trafficking.

On March 30, a sixth suspect was apprehended in Minden as a result of ongoing investigations into human trafficking, following the arrest of five individuals on several offenses.

The following individuals were named as suspects:

  • Reno resident Richard Brieger, 25, was taken into custody on charges of attempted child abuse, statutory sexual seduction, and luring a minor (under the age of 16). A bail of $60,000 has been imposed.
  • The 44-year-old Walnut Creek, California resident Edward Lin was taken into custody on charges of attempted child abuse, solicitation of a minor (14+), and attempted statutory sexual seduction. The bond amount is $110,000.
  • Arrested for multiple counts of attempted statutory sexual seduction, attempted luring a child under the age of 16, attempted child abuse, attempt to use a juvenile in sexual portrayal, and attempted kidnapping in the second degree, 27-year-old Alec Caples of South Lake Tahoe, California, was arrested. A bond of $185,015 has been set.
  • Arrested for engaging in or soliciting prostitution and resisting arrest was 41-year-old Hiral Patel of South Lake Tahoe, California. The amount of bail is $1,880.
  • Arrested for indulging in or soliciting prostitution was 20-year-old Ivan Perez of South Lake Tahoe, California. The bond amount is $640.
  • Reno resident Matthew Hall, 26, was taken into custody on March 30 for multiple charges, including attempted lewdness with a minor (under the age of 14), attempted luring a minor (under the age of 16), attempted child abuse, and attempted statutory sexual seduction. Hall also faces charges related to the use of a minor (under the age of 14) in the production of pornography. The bail amount is $260,015.

The authorities have put all of these individuals behind bars as they await their hearing.
