The course lasts one month. You will read interesting text lessons, listen to educational audio recordings, watch videos, and complete simple practical assignments. Study in your free time, whenever it is convenient for you. You will need to set aside about 30 minutes per day.
At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion and add the following materials to your portfolio (we publish the work on our website):

- photo report.
A trainer (a journalist with extensive experience in the media) will be available via email to answer all your questions; he will also check, comment on, and publish your completed work.
The course consists of three blocks: journalism basics, photojournalism, and a workshop.
The “Fundamentals of Journalism” block is designed for 20 days of training. It includes the following topics:

- Resources (where and how to earn money);
- Advice from international journalism professionals;

- Tools for journalists;
- Storytelling;
- How journalists can win grants;
- Investigative journalism;
- Reportage photography.
The Photojournalism module is designed for four days of training. You don’t need to have a camera, just a smartphone. You will learn how to take photos for the media, learn the basics of photojournalism, and become a step ahead in terms of photography.
Day one. Basic concepts, the most important things about journalism and photojournalism. Immersion in the profession and this field.
Day two. Genres of photojournalism, as well as street photography (the basics of street photography).
Day three. Composition and techniques. The most proven techniques that will make your photos better. Photographers use them, photojournalists use them, and you can use them too.
Day four. Homework, instruction. Life hacks and recommendations. Learning to write captions for photos.
The “Practicum” block is designed to last approximately 6 days (completion of practical assignments — news article and interview). We will learn to write journalistic materials in the most popular genres. The trainer will explain what went well and what mistakes were made, and will edit your texts. Writing good, professionally formatted texts is a useful skill that will come in handy in life.
The Journalism course is ideal for those seeking a quick start in the media without specialized education.
