Young Mother in Houston Charged for Abandoning Newborn Behind Food Truck

Houston: Following reports that this past week, a young mother gave birth to a baby and then promptly threw her child in a dumpster, she is now being charged with a serious crime.

According to court records, Everilda Cux-Ajtzalam, 18, was detained on July 23 and accused of leaving a kid unintentionally, a third-degree felony.

Cux-Ajtzalam allegedly gave birth to a baby on the ground behind a food truck in the 6020 block of Dashwood Drive while she was working, according to the police.

According to court documents, the adolescent abandoned the newborn and left it in a nearby dumpster after tying the infant, placenta, and umbilical cord inside a trash bag.

According to records, a bystander heard the infant cries for assistance and dialed 911 to bring the youngster back. After being taken to the hospital, the baby’s status is still unknown.

Cux-Ajtzalam allegedly told police that she had no choice but to throw her kid away because she didn’t want to terminate her relationship with her partner when they were apprehended.

The entire event, according to investigators, was captured on surveillance footage.

Cux-Ajtzalam, who has no connections to the nation, is considered a flight risk. Currently, she is being held in jail on a $90,000 bond.

The 29th of July is her next court date as reported by Click2Houston.
