Wounded Burglary Suspect Arrested by Frisco Police
FRISCO, Texas- A homeowner allegedly shot an 18-year-old man from North Richland Hills who was attempting to break into their home, leading to his arrest and subsequent burglary charges, according to Frisco Police.
Officers say that at 8:06 p.m. on Sunday, they received a call from a resident reporting suspicious activity in the 1400 block of Belfort Drive. The resident said that someone they didn’t know had entered their backyard, taken a ladder off the house, and used it to smash a window.
“As officers approached the location, they reported hearing gunshots,” the department stated. “Upon securing the scene, Officers found 18-year-old Clinton Montgomery of North Richland Hills inside the home with a gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed that Montgomery was attempting to enter the residence when he was shot by the homeowner.”
Frisco Fire Department personnel and Police officials took Montgomery to a hospital for treatment where he remained in custody.
Montgomery is charged with burglary of a habitation which is a second-degree felony carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison as well as a fine of up to $10,000.
