Woman Shot Straight in Head in Los Angeles, Was in Car when Shot Dead

Los Angeles, CA: A woman was discovered shot to death on a street in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood of South Los Angeles late Tuesday evening, according to authorities.
At about 8:50 p.m., officers from the 77th Division of the Los Angeles Police Department arrived at the scene of a shooting in the 5800 block of South Hoover Street. They discovered a single victim lying in the roadway, with a gunshot wound to the head.
The person was declared dead upon arrival of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The people nearby informed the police that the woman was homeless and had been living in the car for the past few months. The victim was shot dead where she used to park her car in which she had been residing.
A representative from the Los Angeles Police Department clarified that the victim was not experiencing homelessness, contradicting earlier reports that suggested they were residing in a parked vehicle near the scene of the shooting.
During the inquiry, the Los Angeles Police Department blocked off Hoover Street to traffic heading north and south.
The identity of the woman had not been revealed by the authorities. The identity is likely to be revealed after a notification to a kin.
The authorities have launched a probe to look into the matter and they are searching for the suspect who is on the run.
The deputies are looking into whether the victim and the assailant knew each other and what were the motives of the killing.
