When a Wisconsin court sentenced Taylor Schabusiness to life in prison in 2024 for the murder of 24-year-old Shad Thyrion, he used these words.

According to a criminal complaint, the 27-year-old mother and wife admitted to decapitating Thyrion as they were having sex, sexually assaulting his decapitated body, and then mutilating and dismembering his body with a butter knife.

Schabusiness and her lawyer filed an appeal shortly after she was sentenced and convicted, but in a new document, the attorney representing the convicted killer informed the judge that they are withdrawing their efforts.

In a no merit order acquired by PEOPLE, attorney Gregory Petit stated that his client’s conviction was the result of a fair investigation and trial, and that there are no grounds on which they could successfully contest the ruling.

The matter will be officially resolved after Petit sends his final order to a judge on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

According to the complaint, Schabusiness informed Green Bay Police Department officers that she and Thyrion had gone to his residence after using methamphetamine.

When Schabusiness arrived at Thyrion’s house, the two proceeded to engage in sexual intercourse, which got violent when the convicted killer claimed she began to suffocate her boyfriend.

Schabusiness would black out while choking Thyrion, but when she recovered and discovered the victim was already purple, she said she was “already this far” and chose to finish the job, commenting in a softer tone of voice that she “liked it,” detectives wrote in the report.

“Schabusiness stated she enjoyed choking him and made comments to detectives asking if they knew what it was like to love something so much that you kill it,” the prosecutors added.

Schabusiness sexually raped Thyrion after he died before mutilating and slicing up his body with a “bread knife,” according to the lawsuit.

According to the accusation, Schabusiness informed deputies that she was exhausted and lacked the energy to dispose of Thyrion’s remains.

“Schabusiness stated the plan was for her to bring all of the body parts with her but she got lazy and only ended up putting the leg/foot in the van and she forgot the head,” according to the lawsuit.

According to the lawsuit, after Schabusiness left the house, Thyrion’s mother went downstairs to check on him and discovered his head in a bucket.

During her police interrogation, Schabusiness abruptly said “damn the head,” followed by “I can’t believe I left the head though.”

Thyrion’s genitalia were also in a pail, while the rest of his remains were dispersed throughout the basement and the van Schabusiness had borrowed from her roommate that day.

In February 2022, a jury convicted her guilty of intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and sexual assault in connection with the meth-fueled murder.

Schabusiness, 27, never denied the charges and did not testify in her defense, although she did submit a plea of “not guilty” due to a mental condition or defect.

The jury ultimately determined that Schabusiness was of sound mind.
