Wisconsin Man Sold 4 kilos of Cocaine; Sentenced after Cops Busted another Kilo for Sale

Miami Standard (Fitchburg, WI) – A 47-year-old man from Wisconsin has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson for possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute.

Timothy M. O’Shea, the United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that David Junius from Fitchburg has been charged with the possession of more than 500 grammes of cocaine with the intent to distribute. Junius entered a guilty plea for this charge on December 19, 2024.

In late 2022, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the FBI initiated an investigation into a drug trafficking organisation involved in cocaine and meth operations across Portage, Madison, and La Crosse.

In April 2023, authorities intercepted communications and monitored the distribution of four kilogrammes of cocaine from Junius to various individuals. Subsequent investigations enabled agents to discover approximately 1.5 kilogrammes of cocaine and $20,000 in a storage unit in Madison linked to Junius.

Judge Peterson voiced apprehension regarding Junius’ background as a repeat offender, noting his nine previous drug-related convictions, and concluded that the sentence was warranted due to the substantial part he played.

Angel Flores, a co-defendant, has entered a guilty plea regarding drug charges and is set to be sentenced on April 3.
