Wife Shot Straight in Head to Death in Kentucky; Husband then Shot Her Mother to Death as Well: Authorities

A man from Shelby County has been taken into custody following the alleged murder of his wife and mother-in-law on Friday. As per an arrest citation, a 32-year-old man named Michael Hunt informed the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office that he had a specific task of eliminating both females.

Authorities responded to the Cropper area in Shelby County after receiving reports of a shooting around 8:40 p.m. Hunt informed the authorities about an incident involving a gunshot near the Baptist Church, according to the citation.

However, despite the police’s initial inability to find anyone, they later had a second conversation with Hunt who revealed that the victims could be found at 201 Pleasureville Road.

Authorities discovered a deceased woman on the first floor of a residence, with a gunshot wound to the head. Additionally, another woman was found on the second floor, also suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Tragically, the second woman was transported to the hospital and, regrettably, she passed away later, as reported by WKYT.

The police have confirmed the identities of the victims as Emily Hunt, aged 33, and Heather Simmons, aged 56.

The individual in question, as stated in the arrest citation, was found with blood on their clothing during the time of their arrest.

Court documents reveal that this person has previous charges related to drugs, driving under the influence, and disorderly conduct. He is now facing charges of murder and attempted murder. The arraignment had been set for 1 p.m. on June 25th.
