After online child predator investigators from another county alerted the sheriff’s office, a Mill Valley man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of many firearm charges.

According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Roseville Police Department officials in Placer County conducted a four-day sting operation to identify online child predators.

Following the operation, a Roseville detective corresponded with the Marin Sheriff’s Office about a suspect residing in an unincorporated area of Mill Valley

Roseville investigators asked help verifying the suspect lived at the house they thought he did and with running the arrest warrant.

The sheriff’s office stated the suspect was arrested on Thursday morning on his way to work. Officers allegedly found eleven unregistered weapons and several hundred rounds of ammunition after searching the house and suspect’s car.

The suspect, a convicted felon, is not allowed to have any guns or ammo.

Law enforcement said that among the weapons found were an un-serialized AR-15 produced from an 80 percent lower receiver.

Suspected of being a felon in possession of an unregistered assault weapon and possession of an un-serialized pistol, the 37-year-old suspect was booked into the Marin County jail.

Jail records state that the suspect was also arrested on suspicion of obscene and lascivious actions with a kid under the age of 14, planning to meet with a juvenile for sex and forwarding damaging material meant to appeal to a minor.

Marin County added an extra bond sum of $50,000 to the Roseville warrant bail total of $500,000.
