Walmart plans to rebuild 12 Alabama locations, including a new Neighborhood Market site.
According to Fox 54, the upgrades are part of the company’s larger plan to rebuild over 650 shops nationally this year.
The upgrades will include new signs, larger product displays, and a broader assortment of things.
In addition, Walmart will improve its online pickup and delivery capabilities, upgrade pharmacy sections with bigger aisles, private screening rooms, and separate checkout areas.
The following locations will be remodeled:
- Huntsville: 330 Sutton Road SE
- Madison: 7140 Wall Triana Highway
- Mobile: 2570 Government Blvd., 1300 N. University, 685 Schillinger Rd. S.
- Cullman: 626 Olive St. S.W.
- Haleyville: 42466 Alabama 195
- Thomasville: 34301 U.S. 43,
- Robertsdale: 21141 Alabama 59
- Northport: 5710 McFarland Blvd.
- Atmore: 911 N Main St.
- Vestavia Hills: 1300 Montgomery Hwy.
In addition to the remodels, Walmart is developing a new Neighborhood Market in Tuscaloosa, which will open in early summer. The store will produce about 100 new employment.
