Vigilant Homeowner Foils Armed Robbery, Reveals Drug Operation at Miami Airbnb with 5 Arrests

Miami, FL- Authorities have arrested five individuals following an armed home invasion in Miami, where a drug trafficking operation was discovered at an Airbnb property, according to law enforcement officials.

Authorities report that the owner of an Airbnb property played a crucial role in thwarting a home invasion. The vigilant homeowner promptly contacted the police after observing the incident unfold on the property’s surveillance cameras.

Two men are facing drug charges and three others are facing charges in connection with a robbery that occurred during an armed home invasion at a Miami Airbnb. The incident also revealed a marijuana trafficking operation.

Around 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, an incident occurred at a residence in the Flagami area, specifically in the vicinity of Southwest 5th Street and Southwest 58th Street.

Miami Police officials reported that the homeowners noticed several individuals entering their residences armed with guns. The homeowners promptly contacted the police, who swiftly arrived at the scene.

Based on the arrest reports, upon arrival, officers encountered two individuals who were staying at an Airbnb and had unfortunately become victims of a home invasion.

During a routine security sweep of the residence, law enforcement officers discovered significant amounts of marijuana, according to the reports.

Upon arrival, narcotics investigators discovered multiple trash bags filled with vacuum-sealed bags containing approximately 113.22 pounds of suspected raw cannabis, according to the reports.

In addition, $29,850 in cash was discovered at the residence.

According to the reports, the individuals involved in the robbery arrived at the residence and threatened one of the tenants with a firearm and a rifle, coercing them to enter the premises.

A group of criminals demanded cash and subjected one of the individuals to a distressing ordeal, forcing them to kneel and lie down while brandishing firearms.

Another victim was discovered and held at gunpoint while the perpetrators searched the house, taking multiple bags and cash, according to the reports.

According to reports, the robbery suspects managed to escape the scene before the arrival of the police. However, they were later apprehended in the vicinity and taken into custody.

According to the reports, the bags matched the drugs discovered in the house. They also mentioned that the robbers left behind several pounds of cannabis and approximately $11,000 while fleeing from the scene.

Three individuals have been identified as the robbery suspects: Tijhani Cairiq Brown, Rasambessa Wahlanii Johnson, and Jamouri Lee Sawyer.

All three individuals are facing serious charges including home invasion robbery with a firearm, armed burglary with assault or battery, and armed kidnapping. Brown and Sawyer are facing charges of armed cannabis trafficking, while Johnson is accused of resisting an officer without violence.

Two individuals, Robert Rincon and Johnny Guzman, have been identified as Airbnb renters. They have been accused of engaging in cannabis trafficking, as well as possessing or leasing properties for the purpose of marijuana trafficking, and engaging in money laundering.

All five suspects have been taken into custody and made their court appearance on Friday. Brown, Johnson, and Sawyer will continue to be held in custody without bond, while Guzman and Rincon will have the opportunity to post bond.
