Campaigners said Saturday that three American children, ages two, four, and seven, and their undocumented immigrant moms have been deported from the United States. One of the children has a rare form of cancer.

The deportations from the southern state of Louisiana happen at a time when President Donald Trump is pushing for a strict immigration policy that would send a lot of illegal immigrants back to their home countries.

President Trump’s government says one of the women asked for her child to be sent with her.

In a statement released Saturday, the National Immigration Project said, “The New Orleans ICE Field Office deported at least two families, including two mothers and their minor children.” The statement was about the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

It said the deportations were put together quickly and happened early Friday morning.

“One of the mothers is currently pregnant,” the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said in a separate statement. The ACLU also called the deportations “illegal and inhumane.”

The ACLU said that one of the US children who was taken out of the country has “a rare form of metastatic cancer” and was sent back to the US without being given any medicine or medical advice.

It also said that ICE agents kept the families “incommunicado” and didn’t help the women and lawyers talk to each other.

“Horrifying and puzzling” –

In the statement, Gracie Willis of the National Immigration Project said, “What we saw from ICE over the last few days is horrifying and puzzling.” Families have been split up for no reason.

“We should be gravely concerned that ICE has been given tacit approval to both detain and deport US citizen children.”

One woman and her two-year-old child were sent back to Honduras without any due process. On May 16, Federal District Judge Terry Doughty will hear the case “to put to rest our strong suspicion that the government just deported a US citizen with no meaningful process.”

“The government says this is all okay because the mother wants to be removed with her child. “But the court doesn’t know that,” Doughty wrote in a Friday court order, making it clear that it is against the law to deport a US resident.

The girl has only been named by the letters VML.

Attorneys for her father quickly asked for a temporary protection order so that the girl could be brought back.

There have been disagreements between the Trump administration and federal courts, rights groups, and Democrats. They say that by quickly deporting migrants, sometimes without giving them a chance to be heard, he has violated or ignored constitutional rights.

Trump said on social media on Saturday that immigrants in the US without papers were “wreaking havoc like we have never seen before.”

He didn’t think deportations should follow the law, saying, “It is not possible to have trials for millions and millions of people.”

“We know who the Criminals are, and we must get them out of the U.S.A. — and FAST!”

Friday, federal officials arrested a US judge in Wisconsin on charges that he or she protected an undocumented criminal.

The White House has also disobeyed a Supreme Court order that the Trump administration must “facilitate” the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a resident of Maryland who was sent to a maximum security jail in El Salvador by mistake.
