“UNO” The Popular California Puma Struck Dead in Santa Ana
Santa Ana, CA: A majestic and popular mountain lion, commonly called cougar or puma, was struck dead by a car.
The cougar died at the location before it could receive any medical intervention. Her name was F312 but people often called her “Uno.”
The puma rocked to fame after it was captured in a video by a wildlife photographer in Orange County last summer.
The UC Davis California Mountain Lion Project confirmed that the mountain lion died after being hit by a car.
When the puma crossed Santiago Canyon Road in the Santa Ana Mountains on Thursday, she was hit by a car, as per the people on the project.
“Sadly, it’s become far too easy to predict how a mountain lion will die in Southern California,” Tiffany Yap, a senior scientist with the Center for Biological Diversity, said in a statement. She meant that a mountain lion would be hit by a car.
