The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office reports that following a drug bust in Covington on Saturday, three males have been taken into custody and charged.
We’ve been informed that a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction was witnessed on Saturday, July 13 while the Alleghany Highlands Narcotics Task Force was conducting surveillance.
One ounce of suspected fentanyl valued at $3,000, one gram of Xanax, a firearm, $4804.00 in US currency, and a 2008 Dodge truck were seized during a traffic stop with the help of the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office.
The culprit, a 27-year-old West Virginian named Tristan Crookshanks, has been identified. West Virginian Ragan Bostic, 28 years old. Richard Harris of West Virginia, age 21.
Crookshanks is charged with the following:
- Distribution of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- possession of a firearm while possessing schedule 1 or 2 drug
Bostic is charged with the following:
- Distribution of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug
- Possession of a firearm while possessing schedule 1 or 2 drug
Harris is charged with the following:
- Distribution of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug
- Possession of a schedule 4 drug without prescription
