Tragic Incident in Texas as Heavy Load becomes Detached from Truck, resulting in Loss of Life and Injuries
Temple, TX: Tragedy struck in Temple, Texas as a devastating incident unfolded, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving another individual in critical condition. An oversized load became disconnected from an 18-wheeler on Saturday, tragically pinning a vehicle beneath it.
Emergency crews swiftly responded to the incident that occurred approximately 90 minutes north of Austin at 11:20 a.m. They discovered a massive load, weighing 350,000 pounds, resting on top of a vehicle that was carrying three individuals. This unfortunate event took place at the intersection of Highway 36 and 317, as reported by Temple Fire & Rescue’s Facebook page. The Temple Police Department also responded to the incident.
EMS successfully extracted the driver from the vehicle after a four-hour operation. Officials stated that he was subsequently transported to Baylor Scott & White Health with injuries that were deemed life-threatening.
According to authorities, an ongoing investigation is being conducted, although they have chosen not to provide additional details at this time.
