Two flavors of Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate bars have been voluntarily recalled across the United States due to potential contamination with small stones, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.
Tony’s Chocolonely Inc., based in New York City, issued the recall for seven specific lots of its Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar and Everything Bar, both weighing 6.35 ounces (180g). The recall impacts products distributed nationwide through retail stores and online sales between February 7 and March 24.
The recall follows 12 consumer reports of small stones being found in the chocolate bars, which the company says were not filtered out during third-party almond harvesting and processing. All complaints were reported outside the U.S. and Canada, and no injuries have been reported.
