MOBILE COUNTY, Alabama — The United States Department of Justice says that 205 people who sexually abused children were arrested and 115 children were saved during a five-day coordinated enforcement action led by the FBI.
As part of “Operation Restore Justice,” all 55 FBI field offices, the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section in the USDOJ’s Criminal Division, and U.S. Attorney’s Offices across the country looked into the case.
A news report from the USDOJ says that three of the people arrested for sexually abusing children live in Mobile County.
“The FBI is resolute in its determination to find and arrest those who prey on children.”
Timothy O’Malley, who is in charge of the FBI Mobile Field Office, said, “Children.” “The FBI works hard to protect our communities and the most vulnerable people in them—our children—through relentless investigations and strong partnerships.” The hard work of the people doing these things shows exactly what the FBI stands for and what its goal is.
James Eugene Dees, 51, of Wilmer was caught and is being charged with having child pornography, obscene visual representations of children being sexually abused, and charges for a registered sex offender.
A 35-year-old man from Mobile named Zachary Ray Norris was arrested and charged with child pornography distribution and access with the plan to view child pornography.
Jason WC Jones, 46, from Mobile was arrested and is being charged with sexually exploiting minors, forcing and enticing them to do something, distributing child pornography, getting access to child pornography with the plan to view it, and sending obscene material to a minor.
“Our job every day is to keep south Alabama safe from predators,” said Sean P. Costello, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama. Criminals who want to take advantage of, abuse, or hurt children in our community will be caught by committed, skilled prosecutors and police officers who are eager to do so.
