Thomson Man Dies While Evading the Cops. This is What He Was Running From

A 43-year-old Thomson man died Thursday while fleeing police officers serving a search warrant in a homicide investigation.

Devicco LaTroy Moss’ blue Chevrolet Silverado truck collided with a tractor-trailer in the small Anthony Crossroads community at the crossroads of Ridge Road and U.S. Highway 78, according to a GBI press release.

Mario Clemons, 42, was discovered dead behind a house in Thomson’s 1800 block of Ridgeview Drive at around 9 p.m. on April 14.

Moss fled Thursday after the GBI, McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, and the Department of Public Safety Motor Carrier Compliance Division conducted a search warrant at his Thomson home on the 100 block of Faubus Street.

During the chase, an MCCD officer wrecked on Wrightsboro Road and was sent to a local hospital for assessment, according to the GBI.
