Miami Standard (Dallas, TX) – A student with conservative views at a Texas university reportedly faced an attack from a transgender student who used a bike lock as a weapon, as evidenced by unsettling footage.
Paige Neumann, the President of the Turning Point USA chapter, recorded the incident at the University of Texas, Dallas, on Monday. The video captures the individual, recognised by officials as 20-year-old Liam Thanh Tam Nguyen, seizing his bicycle before striking at the camerawoman with a bike lock.
Nguyen, known as Alyssa, was taken into custody and processed at Collin County Jail on the same day.
Authorities have charged the suspected attacker with two felony counts of aggravated assault involving a deadly weapon, as reported by the Dallas Observer. Additionally, the individual faces one count of attempting to seize a weapon from an officer and another count for assaulting a peace officer.

Turning Point USA shared footage of the event on X, stating that the assailant “hit Paige in the head with a metal bike lock, delivering a blow strong enough to break her phone.”
A student identified as Grace reportedly had her phone damaged during the incident, as stated by the student organisation.
“Paige has filed a police report with the university, and authorities are taking the matter seriously as they search for the suspect,” Turning Point USA said.
In a recent segment on “The Ingraham Angle,” Neumann shared her experience, revealing that she had suffered a head injury from the incident.
“It did hit the back of my head,” Neumann said. “That is exactly what happened. It hit me almost on my neck.
“If he would have aimed a little bit lower, I could have been paralyzed. I think he wanted to kill me.”
The individual asserted that she played no role in instigating the event, emphasising that she uttered “no words to him whatsoever” prior to the purported assault occurring.
“I [was] just talking with my officers as I do every week,” Neumann said. “I said zero words to him, and he started attacking me. He swung the bike lock. It hit our table, our phones were destroyed and my head was severely injured.”
Neumann is still experiencing pain from the incident and intends to consult a doctor regarding her injury in the near future.
