Miami Standard (Pensacola, FL) – According to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a Pensacola woman was gravely hurt after colliding with the back of another car and rolling over her own vehicle.
The crash happened close to the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Blue Angel Parkway at approximately 3:21 p.m.
According to the FHP, a 68-year-old Pensacola man’s Tesla was stopped at a red light behind a 62-year-old Pensacola man’s Land Rover. The Tesla was approached from behind by a 37-year-old Pensacola woman driving a Toyota sedan, who failed to stop in time to prevent an accident.
The sedan overturned onto its roof when the Toyota collided with the back of the Tesla. The Tesla was forced into the Land Rover’s back end.
With severe injuries, the woman was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital by Life Flight. The driver of the Land Rover reported no injuries, while the driver of the Tesla had minor wounds.
According to the FHP, the driver of the Toyota received a citation for driving recklessly and failing to buckle up.
