Covington, TN: Six teenagers have been arrested by the Covington Police Department following an investigation into a series of vehicle burglaries.

During June 11-14, the CPD received numerous calls reporting incidents of multiple vehicles being ransacked.

According to the police, a significant amount of valuable items, including seven firearms, were stolen from the vehicles, resulting in a loss of approximately $4,500. The burglaries resulted in approximately $1,800 worth of damage caused by the suspects.

After receiving reports from the communities, officers quickly took action and started canvassing the area. They discovered that the male suspects had been entering the residential area and making their escape in two vehicles: a blue Chevy Cruz and a gray Nissan Altima.

The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office recently issued a BOLO for a Nissan Altima that was reportedly involved in an attempted vehicle burglary in Terrytown on June 13.

Officers from the CPD found the vehicle in Covington and were able to identify the registered owner. Officers subsequently interviewed the owner of the car and residence, and the car was later towed by the TCSO for forensic processing in connection with the burglary.

According to reports, during their search of the area, officers made an additional discovery in a dumpster – a backpack containing two electronic devices that had been stolen during the vehicle burglary.

Authorities conducted a search warrant at the residence, where they discovered stolen items linked to multiple car break-ins. According to the police, additional items were found related to a gang-related incident in the vicinity of Frazier Park.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses following a gang-related incident. The charges include possession of a stolen weapon, carrying a weapon on school property, unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon, and evading arrest.
