Teen found Dead in a Ditch in Seattle; Body recovered near I-5
Seattle, WA: An investigation into the teen’s death is still underway following his body’s discovery in a ditch near an onramp to Interstate 5 in North Seattle on Friday morning.
At approximately 8 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the intersection of Northeast 85th Street and the northbound I-5 onramp.
The Washington State Patrol reported finding a juvenile who seemed to have had a gunshot wound.
The teen had already passed away when medics from the Seattle Fire Department arrived at the scene.
A 16-year-old Seattle resident named Jahaz S. Phillips was named by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
It was determined that he was murdered. The authorities are looking for nearby CCTV for evidence.
At 85th, the ramps leading to and from I-5 were blocked off as authorities gathered evidence and retrieved the body.
