Teen and 65-year-old Man Shot Dead in Chicago, Police Looking for Suspects

A boy and a senior citizen were shot dead on Tuesday afternoon in Chicago’s Southwest Side. As per the Chicago Police Department, the two victims were related.

Mario Medina, 65, and Juan A. Medina Jr., 14, were standing outside their lawn in the 3500 block of West 61st Place. A grey car pulled over and dashed bullets on them. The two shooters fled after shooting them.

The teen died on the spot and the man was taken to a nearby hospital. He breathed his last at Advocate Christ Medical Centre in Oak Lawn.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed their identities. According to the office of the medical examiner, they both resided on the same block where the shooting happened.

As per the CPD, the shooters fled to the west in 61st Place. No arrest has been made in the matter and the police are looking for the suspect.

There were almost twenty evidence markers strewn across the street that bore bullet casings. The detectives have launched investigations on homicide charges.
