Teacher Arrested in Boston after Having Inappropriate Relations with 15-year-old; Abuse Material found Stemming from Year-long Relation

A former Boston teacher has been apprehended on federal charges for allegedly having child sexual abuse images connected to an online relationship with a 15-year-old.

A man from Quincy, Carter Peaseley, aged 40, was arrested on Thursday, as announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts on Tuesday. He faces charges related to the possession and receipt of explicit material involving minors.

Authorities have stated that Peaseley has experience as a teacher at the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science and at the Match Charter School, both located in Boston. O’Bryant is located in Roxbury, while Match operates an elementary school in Hyde Park, a middle school in Jamaica Plain, and a high school in Allston.

According to prosecutors, Peaseley was engaged in an online relationship with the minor for approximately one year. He supposedly mentioned intentions to visit the victim.

“Peaseley supposedly advised the minor against saving his texts and proposed using an alternative platform.” The U.S. Attorney’s Office has stated that Peaseley and the minor allegedly exchanged photographs, some of which were sexually explicit.

According to court documents, a significant number of disturbing images were discovered during searches of Peaseley’s phone and computer.

Peaseley was released by federal prosecutors after his arrest, but with certain conditions in place. These conditions include restrictions on unsupervised contact with children, a curfew, and GPS monitoring.
