St. Petersburg Child Predator Arrested by Police after He Made Inappropriate Contact with Minors in Pinellas Park
Pinellas Park, FL: Police in Pinellas County said that a man with a history of sex crimes spanning over 20 years “continuously followed” and made “inappropriate comments” to a group of children at a park, leading to his arrest.
Pinellas Park Police said that at Helen Howarth Park, three kids were followed by a man who allegedly said “disturbing” things to them.
Joseph Veltre, 57, allegedly asked the children “if he could masturbate in front of them,” the authorities revealed.
Veltre was taken into custody by the police and is now facing charges of child abuse, aggravated stalking, and traveling to see a juvenile.
The agency acknowledged that Veltre had been released from jail on bond for engaging in indecent and lascivious behavior towards an old or disabled person. In addition, he has a record as a sex offender.
Multiple sex crimes against children-related charges surface in a background investigation. The charge of exposing of a sexual organ led to Veltre’s 1994 conviction. The lewd or lascivious exhibition was another offense for which he was found guilty in 2003.
In 2004, Veltre was found guilty in St. Lucie County of engaging in sexual behavior with a minor and indecently soliciting a child through the Internet. His conviction for indecent and lascivious exhibition against a victim under the age of sixteen occurred in 2015.
In the early 2000s, Veltre was not convicted despite facing at least three further charges related to sex offenses as per WTSP.
The Pinellas Park police have been tight-lipped about whether or not they suspect other victims..
