Springfield Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Misconduct with High School Student

A man from Springfield, Massachusetts, was detained on Tuesday after a traffic stop revealed that he was a suspect in a sexual assault case.

Justin Perez, 27, reportedly made inappropriate contact with a female student at Somers High School, where he worked as an assistant athletics coach.

An October 2024 state police investigation revealed that Perez reportedly made inappropriate social media/phone contact, contact during practices, and unwelcome sexual approaches on a student.

According to an affidavit, Perez made contact with the victim after regular practice hours, as late as 1 a.m., and communicated pornographic photographs and videos to her.

Perez was charged for the following violations:

  • Criminal attempt-risk of injury to a minor
  • Risk of injury to a minor
  • Criminal attempt- second degree sexual assault
  • Fourth degree sexual assault
  • Enticing a minor under 18 by computer

He was released on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Wednesday.
