According to the news release, Spencer was taken into custody by investigators less than 90 minutes after the police got the 911 call.
After attempting to break into Bland’s home, Spencer allegedly bought a glass cutter and a pocketknife, according to the criminal papers.
According to the TV station, Spencer proceeded to ring the front doorbell, converse with Bland, and then forcefully enter the home.
The granddaughter and Spencer were arguing when the stabbing occurred. Because Bland tried to step in, he ended up with a knife wound.
Following Bland’s yelling, Spencer allegedly stabbed her in the shoulder and proceeded to stab her in a state of panic. There were 25 stab wounds to Bland, according to reports.

Spencer remains in custody without bond, according to court documents. Who knows if he has hired a lawyer.
