Seattle Police Arrested Navy Sailor after he killed 1 and injured 2 in King County

Seattle, WA: According to authorities in King County, a man was killed and two others injured after an active-duty US Navy sailor opened fire on three random individuals last month following a night out in Pioneer Square.

On Monday, investigators from the Seattle Police Department detained 23-year-old Victor Marshall at Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton. On Thursday, Marshall was charged with two counts of first-degree assault and second-degree murder.

With the addition of the firearm enhancement to each allegation, Marshall’s potential jail term ranges from 41 to 53 years if found guilty. He is still in custody while awaiting a $4 million bail.

In the early hours of February 25, Marshall is alleged to have shot and killed 25-year-old Stuart Roberts II four times. He is also facing charges for the gunshot injuries of a 25-year-old woman and another male.

As an active-duty military service member, Marshall likely has access to additional guns and has received training with them, as pointed out by Lee in the allegations against Marshall. However, the police have not found the pistol used in the shooting.

A representative for Naval Post Kitsap confirmed in a Friday email that Marshall, a sailor, arrived at the Bremerton Naval Post in late 2022 and was assigned to the traffic and parking office. In this role, Marshall performs administrative responsibilities connected to on-base parking procedures.

According to the allegations, the female victim was located in a parking lot adjacent to the OHM nightclub shortly before 2 a.m. on February 25. Her partner was discovered injured on the pavement outside the bar by the officers.

The allegations state that officers responding to the scene were informed by dispatchers that Roberts had presented himself at Virginia Mason Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Authorities who arrived at the medical facility discovered a firearm and blood on the floor of the vehicle that had transported him there, according to the accusations.

After being taken to Harborview Medical Center, Roberts passed away.

According to the allegations, officers used club surveillance film to discover that Marshall and a group of pals arrived in three automobiles that parked in the lot just after 10 p.m. the night before they walked into OHM together.

Marshall allegedly sat on the trunk of his friend’s car after leaving the club and took out a revolver he had left inside. According to the charge documents, the man and woman got into an argument about their relationship. Roberts and a female companion were attempting to calm the situation down when Marshall opened fire.

Prosecutors allegedly took pictures of Marshall’s neck and hand after his arrest, and the photos seem to match the gunman’s tattoos in the surveillance film. His arraignment is set on Wednesday.

There have been five murders in Seattle in the last week and a half, with four of those killings occurring this year. Marshall is one of six individuals who have been charged with murder. The alleged involvement of two juveniles—one 22 years old and one 17 years old—in a gang firefight that occurred in West Seattle in July led to their murder charges.
