San Diego: Woman Missing For 9 Years Found Dead in a Freezer

San Diego, California: The San Diego Police Department has released shocking details about the body that was discovered in a freezer last month.

The department opened an investigation after the body was discovered. The body was discovered by a family on vacation on December 22. The body was discovered inside a  chest freezer at a home on the 4900 block of Zion Avenue in Allied Gardens.

The body’s peculiar location prompted the SDPD’s Homicide Unit to look into it. Following their collaboration with the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, detectives have determined that Mary Margaret Haxby-Jones is the deceased person.

According to SDPD, Haxby-Jones, who would have been 81 years old, is thought to have resided at the address at some point before her death. The elderly woman may have been missing or deceased for up to nine years, according to detectives’ theories.

Investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the reason for her death. Authorities stated that she did not appear to have any visible traumatic injuries on her body.

The details are shocking as a person who went missing nine years before was found dead inside a freezer.

The authorities are asking for public assistance to connect to her family member or any other related person. If you have any information, call the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
