San Antonio Armed Carjacking Suspect Arrested by Police, Accused of Multiple Armed Car Thefts
San Antonio, TX: A juvenile was taken into custody by the San Antonio Police Department last weekend on charges related to a series of car burglaries.
Twelve separate burglaries were committed in densely populated parking lots, including those near La Cantera and The Rim, and 18-year-old Mikey Valdez was named as the perpetrator by the police.
The property crime unit of the San Antonio Police Service (SAPS) monitored Valdez using surveillance footage from the neighborhoods surrounding the break-ins.
Assisting in his arrest was the U.S. Marshal’s office. According to the San Antonio Police Service (SAPS), investigators executed a search order and found numerous items of stolen property, including firearms, in his residence.
Valdez was charged with the following crimes:
- Unauthorized use of a vehicle
- Carjacking
- Car theft
He may face more charges as a result of the police’s belief that he is connected to past burglaries as per KSAT.
