Riverside Fire Update: No Injury Reported and Cause Remains Elusive
Riverside, California: Firefighters encountered a vegetation fire at the bottom of Santa Ana River Bottom. The flames engulfed a homeless camp adjacent to a bike trail and Water Treatment Plant.
Riverside Fire Department deployed 16 firefighters with one chief officer, who quickly reached the area to tackle the fire. The cause of the blaze is still not known and the investigation is underway.
The fire destroyed nearly an area of 50 by 50 feet. There were a few transients in the area, and the fire was burning a combination of light and heavy fuels.
Firefighters faced many obstacles during the efforts. Chain link fence, Rock jetty and the water treatment plant outflow were some of the major challenges that slowed down the extinguishing process.
No civilian or firefighter injury is reported by the authorities. The first impression of the firefighters indicates the human-related fire incident. Although the exact cause of the fire remains elusive.
