Recent Restaurant Inspections in Florida: Rodent; Sewage and Insects Found; Places Temporarily Closed
Following recent inspections by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation in Florida, two restaurants were temporarily closed, two restaurants received an administrative complaint, two restaurants were found to have high-priority violations, and nine restaurants successfully passed their initial inspection with no violations.
The inspections were conducted in Pensacola and Escambia Counties by the concerned agency.
Fisherman’s Corner Restaurant
13486 Perdido Key Dr.
Status: Temporarily Closed
Operations were temporarily halted until the necessary corrections were made. The restaurant promptly completed a follow-up inspection the following day.
There were a total of three violations, including two high-priority violations discovered during the initial inspection.
Live insects were found in various areas of the establishment. The inspectors witnessed a total of 10 live flying insects in various areas: four in the dishwashing area, four in the kitchen, and two in the dining location.
Sewage was also found on the premises. Grey water was noticed on the floor in the dishwashing area and outside the establishment.
Pensacola Country Club
1500 Bay Shore Drive
Status: Temporarily Closed
Operations were temporarily halted due to necessary corrections. An additional period of time was granted the next day, however, a subsequent inspection is still necessary.
The dish machine sanitation was not working effectively.
Live insects were found in various areas of the establishment. The inspectors also noticed a couple of live-flying insects in the kitchen near the prep station.
The presence of rodent activity is indicated by the discovery of rodent droppings. The inspectors discovered a total of 11 rodent droppings in the dry storage area, specifically under the storage rack on the floor. Additionally, two droppings were found on the window seal in the kitchen’s dry storage section.

The Presence of pests such as insects, rodents, or other critters was recorded. During the inspection, it was noticed that there were around 10 to 15 deceased flying insects found in the wall of the front lobby.
