Random Stabbing Spree in Washington DC Leaves Six Wounded; Intoxicated Attacker Arrested by Police

Washington DC – On Thursday, a drunken suspect began randomly stabbing people on the street, including himself, injuring at least six people in the nation’s capital.

On Thursday afternoon, around 3:22 p.m., an incident was reported in Washington, DC’s Trinidad neighbourhood.

Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived on the scene and saw “numerous people suffering from stab wounds.”

The Metropolitan Police Department’s chief, Pamela Smith, informed reporters at a press conference that the suspect was “in an altered mental state from an unknown substance.”

“While walking down the street, the individual began stabbing himself, and then he stabbed a female acquaintance who was also with him,” Smith told me.

“Four women and two men were transported to area hospitals as a result of a senseless assault.”

All of the victims were in stable condition as of Thursday evening.

Two of them included good Samaritans who attempted to save others from the attacker.

“I will say this, even though we’re grateful for their intervention, we would ask that individuals who see incidents such as this to not intervene, because these two individuals, although good Samaritans, were also stabbed as part of this assault,” commented Smith.

Smith also stated that the man “attempted to assault” a grandmother and two grandkids, but did not say whether they were wounded.

“The grandmother and her granddaughters were getting in a car, primarily minding their own business, doing whatever they were doing,” Smith told me.

Crime has historically been a problem in Washington, DC. In January, a man was sent to the hospital for protecting his 21-year-old girlfriend during a near-fatal carjacking in Northwest DC.

In October 2023, three DC girls were arrested and accused with the murder of a 64-year-old man in Northwest DC.

Reggie Brown was beaten to death.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Metropolitan Police Department for more information.

Authorities are looking into the event.

There is no additional information available at this time.
