Quaker Oats Recalled Over Salmonella Contamination; List of items taken off the Shelves in January

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the PepsiCo-owned firm Quaker Oats have announced two recalls recently affecting millions of its customers across the country. Both recalls were issued over the risk of Salmonella contamination.

Granola bars and cereals were the main goods included in the first recall, which was notified on December 15. The second recall, which was published on January 11, increased the list of products to include snack mixes and more cereal products.

According to reports, the recalled products may contain salmonella, a bacterium that causes sickness in healthy individuals but can be lethal in those with compromised immune systems. Thankfully, the FDA reports that no illnesses or fatalities linked to the recalled Quaker Oats products have been recorded as of yet.

• Quaker Chewy Granola Bars (Fruity Fun) Amazing Apple
• Quaker Chewy Granola Bars (Fruity Fun) Splendid Strawberry
• Quaker Chewy Granola Bars (Fruity Fun) Amazing Apple and Splendid Strawberry Variety Pack
• Quaker Chewy Granola Bars Yogurt Strawberry Flavor
• Quaker Chewy Granola Bars Yogurt Blueberry Flavor
• Quaker Chewy Granola Bars Yogurt Variety Packs
• Cap’n Crunch Treats Crunch Berries Cereal Bar
• Cap’n Crunch Treats Bars Variety Pack
• Cap’n Crunch Treats Peanut Butter Crunch Cereal Bar
• Cap’n Crunch Treats Original Crunch Cereal Bars

All these products have an expiration date of 2024.
