Publix Deli BBQ Sauce Recalled Over Undeclared Fish Allergen in 7 States

If you are a Publix shopper or a barbeque sauce fan, then you have to be cautious. Recently, a brand of barbeque sauce has been recalled. This is happening as the sauce contains an allergen that is not declared on the label. The brand is available at Publix.
The sauce has its base in almost 7 US states and all these states have been affected by this.
Ventura Foods is recalling the Publix Deli Carolina-Style Mustard BBQ Sauce because it has Traditional Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce in it, which may contain anchovies, which are an allergen for some people.
A recall notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says that people who are allergic to or very sensitive to fish and anchovies could have a serious or life-threatening allergic response if they eat the sauce.
States affected by the recall are:
- Alabama
- Florida
- Georgia
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Virginia
As of now, no one has gotten sick from the sauce, according to the FDA. The recall only affects the Carolina-Style Mustard BBQ Sauce from Publix Deli which has an expiration date of April 8, 2024.
Publix took all of the recalled goods off the shelves, and this recall doesn’t affect any other Ventura Foods products.
People should either throw away the Publix Deli Carolina-Style Mustard BBQ Sauce right away or take it back to their local Publix store to get their money back in full.
