Possible gunfire shuts down the EB lanes of the Palmetto Expressway in Miami Gardens

Miami Gardens, Florida. – A potential gunfire in the eastbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway in Miami Gardens has caused some traffic problems for vehicles.

On Tuesday night, units from the Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a reported gunshot.

Troopers have blocked down the Palmetto Expressway’s eastbound lanes at Northwest 47th Avenue while they investigate the incident.

Traffic cams showed a strong police presence, with traffic backed up for kilometers. Drivers could be seen driving the wrong direction as they attempted to exit the freeway.

A woman was brought to Jackson Memorial Hospital, however it is unknown if she was engaged in the event.

An investigation is still underway.
