Police Nab 13 in Human Trafficking Sting in West Virginia; Undercover Agents Posed as Women in Latest Sting

Tuscaloosa authorities have reported that the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force has apprehended 37 individuals in relation to various human trafficking investigations.

An investigation into human trafficking was initiated on February 7th after authorities from the Alabama Bureau of Investigation (ABI) interviewed a woman at a hotel in Tuscaloosa. ABI reported their suspicions about the woman to the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force.

Upon arrival at the scene, Task Force members apprehended Cedric Marquis Spencer Jr., a 31-year-old resident of Tuscaloosa. He was charged with first-degree human trafficking on the same day. Volunteers from Trafficking Hope provided crucial support to help the victim access necessary medical care and address other urgent needs.

Authorities have apprehended 23 more individuals as a result of an ongoing investigation into human trafficking.

  1. Ranier Colvin, 26, of Decatur, was charged with promoting prostitution and attempting to elude.
  2. Kyle Gardner, 27, of Birmingham, was charged with soliciting prostitution, first-degree possession of marijuana and resisting arrest
  3. Kadarius Hill, 35, of Northport, was charged with sexual misconduct and resisting arrest.
  4. Damian Hall, 28, of Northport, was charged with soliciting prostitution.
  5. Kinzell Bridges, 27, of Thomaston, was charged with soliciting prostitution.
  6. Kaushik Patel, 68, of Tuscaloosa, was charged with soliciting prostitution.
  7. Martin Litton Jr., 44, of Centreville, was charged with soliciting prostitution.
  8. Kyle Spears, 42, of Pine Hill, was charged with soliciting prostitution.
  9. Juan Eliseo Francisco, 37, of Buhl, was charged with soliciting prostitution.
  10. Markeith Rollins, 35, of Tuscaloosa, was charged with soliciting prostitution and second-degree possession of marijuana.
  11. Shannon Shinholster, 51, of Berry, was charged with soliciting prostitution.
  12. David Allen Henderson Jr., 55, of Slidell, La., was charged with soliciting prostitution.
  13. Xavier Harris, 31, of Fosters, was charged with soliciting prostitution.

Last week, the Task Force carried out another operation where officers assumed the role of women offering commercial sex on various apps.
