Police Chase Ends in Arrest of Five Teens After Two Stolen Cars Crash in Seattle
Seattle police apprehended five teenagers following their escape from two stolen cars that they crashed in North Seattle on September 12.
The Seattle Police Department reported that the young individuals fall within the age range of 13 to 15 years old.
At approximately 2:22 p.m., officers on patrol arrived at the scene following reports of a car accident. Authorities reported that young individuals were fleeing from a vehicle that had been reported stolen close to the Burke Gilman Trail and Northeast 65th Street.
The young individuals entered another vehicle that had been taken without permission and quickly left the area. Authorities found them close to Sandpoint Way Northeast and Northeast 75th Street. They escaped into Magnusson Park in an attempt to avoid the authorities.
The SPD reported that the young individuals drove into a cul-de-sac and exited the vehicle while it was still in motion. A vehicle accident led to officers pursuing on foot and successfully apprehending three juveniles. Shortly after, two additional juveniles were apprehended.
The SPD reported that the young individuals were apprehended for various offenses, such as having a stolen vehicle, fleeing from law enforcement, unlawfully taking a vehicle, and hindering a public official.
They were taken to the facility overseen by Judge Patricia H. Clark, dedicated to matters involving children and families.
Investigators from the General Investigations Unit are actively looking into this case.
