Miami Standard (New York City, NY) – According to authorities and video evidence of the turmoil, hordes of thugs damaged three police cars early on Sunday morning during a crazy car meet-up in Queens, shattering windows and leaping on at least one vehicle.
According to police and law enforcement sources, the chaos occurred along Rockaway Boulevard in a business district of Ozone Park at around one in the morning, when raucous thugs overran the police vehicles who were responding to the disturbance.
Stunning footage shows several criminals slapping or leaning against an unmarked car before a vandal climbs on the hood and smashes a traffic cone into the front windscreen, shattering it.
Before the automobile, with its sirens blazing, sped away, more rabble rousers leaped on top of it and hurled another traffic cone at it, according to the video.
Furthermore, more footage reveals that during the confrontation, the thugs threw traffic cones towards a marked NYPD cruiser.
Three police cars had dents and broken windows, according to the NYPD.
There were no reported injuries.
According to reports, three individuals who were purportedly present at the location of the disturbance were taken into custody in the Bronx at approximately 3:45 a.m.
Third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree unlawful fleeing a police car, and impeding governmental administration were the charges against Jordi Montesquieu, 23, of Massachusetts, according to police and sources.
According to police and sources, 18-year-old Tyler Newman of New Hampshire was charged with impeding governmental administration, and 18-year-old Tristian Nandram of Queens was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration, possession of stolen items, and petty larceny.
According to sources, Nandram is charged with snatching a bag containing documents from the rear of a police vehicle.
More criminals involved in the vandalism and careless driving of vehicles on Saturday night and Sunday are still being sought after, according to authorities.
The NYPD has released images of a number of more suspects, most of whom are disguised, with others using vests that are fluorescent in colour.
