Pimp Arrested in Oregon with Prostitute and Stash of Drugs Lands in Jail; Tried to Convince Minors Claim and Abuse Drugs to Evade Arrest
A man has been sentenced to 80 months in prison following his arrest in a human trafficking sting operation, as reported by the Washington County District Attorney’s Office.
A 21-year-old man named Julius Lavant Mitchell has pleaded guilty to several charges, including unlawful delivery of cocaine, promoting prostitution, felon in possession of a firearm, and tampering with a witness on May 28.
Beaverton police recently carried out an operation targeting human trafficking, where they assumed the role of potential sex buyers on the internet.
A female detective arrived at the scene and was observed getting out of Mitchell’s vehicle.
The car was stopped by the police after it departed from the scene.
Mitchell, the driver of the car, had a previous criminal record and had just finished serving time in Washington for charges of second-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
Authorities discovered a minor present in the vehicle, along with a firearm, substantial quantities of cocaine and dexamphetamine, materials associated with drug distribution, and nearly $2,000 in currency.
Authorities interviewed the woman and verified her involvement in prostitution, as well as the defendant’s role as her pimp.
Officers examined digital evidence on the defendant and the woman’s phone, which provided evidence of his involvement as her pimp.
During his time in custody, Mitchell reached out to different acquaintances and urged them to persuade the minor to take responsibility for the drugs instead of Mitchell.
According to reports, he allegedly instructed the woman to deny any association with him and made threatening remarks about potential acts of violence if she refused.
