Pedestrian Hit While Crossing Lane, Dies on the Spot

Woodland Hills: A male pedestrian was hit this Monday morning while crossing lanes on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Woodland Hills.

California Highway Patrol responded to the call and when reached at the scene, pronounced the victim dead.

A witness briefed the CHP that just before 3 in the morning, a man was walking across lanes on the eastbound Ventura Freeway just west of De Soto Avenue.

This seems to be a hit-and-run case. The vehicle is not identified by the authorities by which the victim may be hit. The identity of the deceased is not disclosed yet.

A SigAlert was issued shutting down eastbound lanes 5 and 6 and the Canoga Avenue on-ramp to the eastbound Ventura Freeway.
