Parents Arrested in Georgia after They Tried to Use 2-year-old as Prostitute to Earn Money; Police Say Parents Sexually Abused Victim to Make Videos
Authorities in Georgia arrested a 26-year-old mother and a 29-year-old father on charges of child sexual abuse. It is alleged that they created explicit material involving their young children for online platforms and even attempted to solicit individuals to engage in sexual acts with their 2-year-old daughter.
Ashlee Taylor Crawley and James Dee Tripp were arrested on Wednesday and are facing multiple felony charges in relation to the accusations.
Crawley has been charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of computer or electronic pornography, in violation of the Child Exploitation and Prevention Act of 2007. Tripp is being charged with criminal attempt – incest and criminal attempt child molestation.
The Grovetown Police Department recently announced that they initiated an investigation into a couple after receiving a “cybertip” from the online chat platform MeetMe. Authorities were alerted by a tipster about disturbing activity on the platform involving the solicitation of minors.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that Crawley had been involved in the production and sale of sexually explicit material on different online platforms.
According to the police, the investigation uncovered disturbing information about Tripp’s intentions involving his own 2-year-old biological daughter, as he was allegedly making plans and seeking permission from Ms. Crawley for inappropriate activities.
After the couple was arrested, the children were taken away from the home and placed under the care of the Division of Family and Children Services.
Officials have made it clear that the investigation into Crawley and Tripp is still ongoing, and they anticipate bringing forth additional charges against them as per Law and Crime.
Both parents are currently in custody at the Columbia County Jail. Online records indicate that Crawley is currently being held on a bond of $60,000, while Tripp’s bond has been set at $50,000.
