Orange County Drug Bust Nets 17 Arrests, Animals also Rescued from Scene: Authorities
Costa Mesa, CA- Authorities apprehended seventeen individuals in a significant drug operation at a location in Costa Mesa.
Neighbors in Costa Mesa have been expressing concerns to the police about possible squatters and illegal drug activity at a property on Clearbrook Lane. The property consists of three separate units.
Yesterday, law enforcement conducted a search warrant and probation check at a residence, resulting in the arrest of 17 individuals at the location.
The suspects have been apprehended for a range of offenses, such as felony and misdemeanor warrants, narcotics sales, possession of narcotics, possession of paraphernalia, parole violation, probation violation, and resisting arrest.
Shortly after, two more individuals were brought to the scene and apprehended.
One of the individuals was being sought for involvement in drug trafficking. Both of their cars were taken away from the scene.
Authorities red-tagged and boarded up three garages on the property. Authorities have yet to disclose the contents discovered in the garages and residences. However, photographs from the operation reveal the presence of illicit narcotics at the location.
Animal control crews also took care of the animals found at the property.
“This was a complete team effort, including many team members from the police department, OC Probation, Code Enforcement, and our residents,” said Costa Mesa police.
The names of the suspects have not been disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.
