Oklahoma Nursing Home Patients Assaulted by Nurses; Video Reveals Three Nurses Involved in the Act
Three individuals employed at a nursing home are currently facing charges related to elder abuse. It is alleged that they recorded videos on Snapchat, in which they engaged in inappropriate behavior with a female patient’s pubic hair, filmed individuals using the bathroom, and even made disrespectful remarks about a deceased individual.
The incident took place at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie, Oklahoma, which is located approximately 30 miles north of downtown Oklahoma City. McKenzie Bolfa, 20, was apprehended by the police alongside Aubrey Granata and Jade Williams, both 21, towards the end of last month.
An investigation was launched by the Guthrie Police Department on April 5 after a former employee and friend of the suspects received a Snapchat allegedly showing Bolfa engaging in inappropriate behavior with a female patient.
According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Law&Crime, the caption requested a mohawk. Williams reportedly captured the video while Granata could be heard laughing in the background.
The patient was found without clothing below the waist and appeared to be still. A concerned individual brought the video to the attention of nursing home administrators, who promptly contacted the police.
In an interview with the police, Bolfa mentioned that she was unsure about the reason they wanted to talk to her, except for hearing a rumor about her providing perineal care to a patient who had an accident. She denied having any knowledge of a video related to the incident. Bolfa mentioned that she sought assistance from Williams and Granata to tidy up the patient.
When questioned about her actions involving the woman’s pubic hair, Bolfa claimed that she was simply addressing hygiene concerns. Bolfa also mentioned that if she was laughing, it was because she and the patient were joking around.
Authorities examined the mobile devices of all three individuals involved and discovered additional unsettling videos. According to the affidavit, there were multiple instances captured on video where patients were shown in compromising situations, such as one scene that focused on a resident’s private area and another where a woman’s breast was exposed.
According to reports reviewed by Law and Crime, there is a video that supposedly shows Williams pulling down the patient’s pants, revealing her diaper. Detectives discovered a disturbing photo of Bolfa lying on a bed next to a deceased patient, imitating the woman’s facial expression with her mouth wide open, as stated in the affidavit.
Williams is still being held in the Logan County Jail, while the other two suspects have managed to secure their $50,000 bonds and have been released. They have upcoming court dates set for August 8th.
