NYPD Midtown Station House Vandalized, Suspect on Large after Breaking Windows
New York City, NY: A New York City resident attacked a New York Police Department Station and shattered every window in the building.
The man smashed the glass front doors of a Midtown NYPD stationhouse early Thursday after throwing rocks at it, according to cops.
At around 7:40 in the morning, the individual hurled the stones from the center of East 35th Street, close to Eighth Avenue, in the direction of the stationhouse of the Midtown South Precinct.
The spiderwebbed glass doors were blown to bits by at least five rocks.
According to the police, the vandal—who was dressed in a coat, brown sweatshirt, and blue jeans—sprinted along W. 35th St.
The culprit has evaded capture despite extensive searches conducted by officers stationed at the stationhouse and those on patrol in the area.
It is anticipated that the vandal was a homeless man and the deputies have been using the nearby camera recordings to trace the suspect.
