NYPD Cop Pleaded Guilty after She was Busted for Selling Fentanyl and Heroin on Duty to FBI informant in New York
New York City, NY: Former Bronx NYPD officer Grace Rosa Baez admitted to federal prosecutors that she conspired to distribute and possessed with intent to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and para-fluoro-fentanyl on Tuesday, April 16, in Manhattan federal court, before U.S. District Judge Denise L. Cote.
As previously mentioned and supported by court documents and testimony, Baez joined the New York Police Department in 2012. Baez was investigated by the department and put on modified duty in 2020 as a result of allegations of misbehavior.
During her modified desk duty at a specific NYPD facility in October 2023, Baez allegedly sold packages containing more than 100 grams of fentanyl analog, 400 grams of fentanyl, and one kilogram of heroin to an FBI informant.
While on duty with the NYPD, Baez arranged for the delivery of the narcotics and negotiated their price and quantity.
The 38-year-old Baez admitted guilt on a single charge that carries a maximum term of 20 years in prison: conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute mixes and substances containing a detectable amount of heroin, fentanyl, and para-fluorofentanyl. In July, Judge Cote is expected to hand down her punishment.
The maximum term for Baez’s guilty plea is twenty years in prison, and he faces a charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute mixes and substances containing a detectable amount of heroin, fentanyl, and para-fluorofentanyl. Baez is 38 years old. The sentencing hearing before Judge Cote is set for July.
