A man from New York City has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to a disturbing incident in which he allegedly stalked and brutally stabbed a woman 40 times inside her apartment in Chinatown in 2022. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office has confirmed this development.
In a press release, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. announced that Assamad Nash, 27, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree burglary as a sexually motivated felony in New York State Supreme Court on June 18. Court documents cited in the release and Nash’s guilty plea reveal the terrifying incident that occurred when Christina Yuna Lee, 35, entered her apartment building near Grand Street and Chrystie Street around 4:20 a.m. on Feb. 13, 2022.
On that particular morning, Nash accompanied Lee as they made their way into the building and climbed six flights of stairs to reach her apartment. According to the release, Nash allegedly entered Lee’s apartment without permission and made an attempt to sexually assault her.
