New York City Sex Crime Charges Filed Against Indiana University Business Student
New York City, NY- An individual studying at a renowned business school was in New York City for a summer internship at Citibank when they reportedly engaged in a series of sex crimes, according to authorities and sources.
Highly ambitious individual with unconventional interests A 21-year-old rising senior at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, Chamberlain Nw-iue, allegedly attempted to assault one of his victims shortly after being released without bail following another attack, as stated by law enforcement officials and Manhattan prosecutors.
The suspect later bragged to the police about his understanding of women and asserted that his eye contact with his attempted rape victim was sufficient to interpret as an “invitation” for him to enter her apartment, according to authorities.
According to prosecutors, he informed the police that he had recently arrived in the city and was employed by Citibank. He was taken into custody for his initial assault on June 27.
Nwi-ue, a resident of Indianapolis, was dismissed from his Citibank internship after only 10 days due to behavioral problems, according to the financial firm. The individual was terminated prior to the occurrence of the initial incident.
This person is not employed by Citi. According to a Citibank representative, he was let go from his internship after just two weeks due to complaints about his behavior.
During the June 27 incident, a woman was assaulted at the corner of Perry and Bleecker streets in Greenwich Village. The suspect slid his hand down her pants and squeezed her butt, according to the district attorney’s office.

According to prosecutors, the individual attempted to kiss the woman, prompting her to scream for assistance. As a result, Nw-iue has been charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse in connection with the incident.
Prosecutors requested $5,000 bail for Nw-iue due to his temporary residence in the city, but Judge Valentina Morales chose to grant supervised release instead.
Authorities reported that Nw-iue proceeded to assault another woman within a span of 24 hours.
Prosecutors described the criminal behavior of the individual as becoming more severe when he attempted to rape a second woman in her apartment. The incident occurred in East Harlem, where he followed the victim, who was walking her dog, into her building and forcibly entered her room.

The perpetrator proceeded to verbally abuse the victim, instructing her to calm down and threatening to engage in sexual activity with her. The victim’s distress was fortunately noticed by a doorman, who came to her aid.
Authorities reported that Nw-iue was apprehended by the police after they discovered him holding the victim inside the apartment.

A person entered a plea of not guilty on Monday for charges related to burglary and attempted rape. The plea was made at the Manhattan Supreme Court arraignment, where Judge Curtis Farber set bail at $100,000 in cash.
