New Jersey Woman Led 110 MPH Police Chase in Ohio; Stated Insanity Reason in Not Guilty Plea after Saying Whole Incident was Funny

Cleveland, OH- A woman from New Jersey, was involved in a high-speed pursuit with Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers.

The troopers successfully stopped her by blowing out her tires and surrounding her on the shoulder after a chase that lasted over 30 miles and reached speeds of up to 110 mph.

Bodycam footage captured the moment when the 33-year-old woman, behind the wheel of a Nissan, expressed her frustration at having her phone taken by authorities. She repeatedly questioned them about their “problem” and claimed to be unaware of the meaning of fleeing and eluding.

A recently acquired video, obtained by Law&Crime, has a duration of approximately 37 minutes. The footage captures the efforts of troopers as they attempt to apprehend the suspect, who has been identified as Esther Paragulla.

At around the 34-minute mark, the troopers can be heard demanding that she surrender on the Ohio Turnpike, on the afternoon of June 29.

“You’re not going to win this one! The car is already falling apart,” a trooper can be heard saying as his dashcam was rolling. “You’re already in enough trouble, you don’t want to be in more. Go ahead and pull it over. You’re never even gonna make it there’s like 10 of us now.”

“Pull it over, your tires are done, your car is done, you are done,” the trooper said again with emphasis. “There is nowhere else for you to go! Pull it over now!”

Finally, near an exit for I-77 towards Cleveland and Akron, the car eventually came to a stop and troopers quickly emerged from their vehicles with guns drawn. Authorities began extracting the driver and her passenger from the vehicle by forcefully breaking the window on the passenger side and swiftly removing a man from the car.

After that, troopers approached the driver’s door and removed her from the vehicle.

“Ow, what’s your friggin’ problem?” the driver appeared to say when she was pulled away from the car and put in handcuffs. “Are you guys serious right now?”

Esther Paragulla, the driver, was apprehended by troopers in Ohio following a high-speed pursuit, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

One trooper confidently claimed ownership of the item, which appeared to be the suspect’s phone.

She angrily accused, “You took my phone!”

“You ain’t gettin’ your phone right now,” a trooper reacted.

“What is your problem?” the driver asked again.

“You are being arrested for fleeing and eluding,” the trooper responded.

“For what? For fleeing and eluding? What does that even mean?” the driver asked.

At that moment, the trooper informed Paragulla of her rights. Meanwhile, the male passenger in the car was already on the ground, hands behind his back.

During the video, as the chase continued, a trooper mentioned that the passenger was capturing the events on camera.

According to a report by Law&Crime, the passenger has not been charged or identified.
