Mypillow’s Mike Lindell Sued Over $450k Rent, Legal Woes Continue in Minnesota

Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, offered to help Shasta County with money when their plan to count ballots by hand failed. Now, he is in legal trouble again in Minnesota for money problems.

The Associated Press reports that Lindell is suing his company to get them kicked out of a warehouse in Shakopee, Minnesota, because they allegedly didn’t pay the nearly $450,000 rent for June and July. A local TV station, WCCO-TV, heard Lindell say, “We have this resolved.”

Lindell became involved in Shasta County politics last year when Supervisor Kevin Crye went to see the pillow salesman and talked to him about ending the county’s contract with Dominion Voting Systems and switching to a method of counting votes by hand.

In February 2023, Crye said that he had emailed Lindell and talked to the MyPillow CEO many times, even going to Minneapolis to see him. The trip cost Crye $1,393 and he charged the county for it.

Crye said Lindell emailed him an example of how a hand-count system could work in case the county decides to use one. Lindell has taken a strong stand in support of Trump’s false claims that the 2020 election was rigged.

There is a great paper ballot method that I sent you that you can use. Also, I’ve given you the US law that says what you can do for disabled people without tools, “Crye read out loud at a Board of Supervisors meeting an email he said he got from Lindell.

In the email, Lindell also offered the county money and legal help if it were to be sued for getting rid of the Dominion Voting Systems, which counts votes electronically: “As I promised, if you face any opposition, such as lawsuits against you or your county, I will give you all the tools you need to fight, including legal and financial support.”

Even though the supervisors agreed to spend more than $1 million to switch from machines to people checking ballots, this has not yet happened. In response to the county’s attempts to count votes by hand, the California Legislature made it illegal to do so in elections with more than 1,000 registered voters last year.

But Lindell has recently been in trouble with the law. He said last year that he was broke.
